The Chilean Miners

I have made a movie/trailer thing. I had a great vision but i am not really pleased with the outcome of the thing. The music did not work so if you have earphones use them or else just turn off the sound! The mic to my computer was not good enough so i think that is why.
Enjoy!
-I actually created a new jing from your film, so now I am linking to my library at jing. Fingers crossed!=) Sound might be too loud this time. /Åsa

Trailer to film about the Chilean miners

  1. The hits on the internet on my topic "The Chilean Miners" were wikipedia at the top but then it was a lot of news articles from i.e. BBC and Reuters. The Wikipedia article was just clean information about the accident and a little history about Chiles past earthquakes. It also reflects a bit over the working conditions of the miners which improved after the accident. The writer is impartial or seems to be, the language is academic but still easy to understand. The writers goal simply seems to be to reach out and inform everyone exactly what happened and therefore the easy language.
The BBC article is about the last man who was rescued. It is a well structured article with information and interviews. The information is written in formal language because after all BBC is a popular and known site. Its goal is to reach out to the entire world. In the article there is also links to past articles conected with the topic. This is for making it easier for readers to get the full story if they have not followed it.
The article from reuters is filled with images from the scene and is also about the last man who was rescued. It is a bit more dramatic and uses words to attract the reader. It is a bit more selling i believe. It is much more exiting to read than the article from BBC. However the language is still formal and just like BBC there are interviews and links to past articles. They are also trying to reach out to the world but it feels like they are trying a bit harder and really want to sell their article. They use alot of interesting under headlines which of course appeals to the reader.
Common for all the articles is that they are very well structured and easy to read through.
My inspiration is actually the love i have from watching movies and that i love the trailers when i go to the cinema. I love the dark trailer voice they have in all the trailers which makes all the movies seem amazing! The trailer really sells the movie so i thought it would be a great idea to take my informative speech about the Chilean Miners and turn it into a thrilling and exiting movie trailer. I chose to use words that were appealing to the viewer and made them believe that it would be an awesome film. I think it appeals more to people who like action and exitment. I tried to use music as well to make it better and more interesting but it did not work as I had hoped. So I hope that the language is selling and convincing enough! And I tried to make it look as much as possible as a real trailer. I had problem with the sound and upploading videos. Images i used were the images that popped up on google and they are just straight from real footage from the event.
